Product information

The OTTER “Bergmann” is a masterpiece that combines OTTER's traditional craftsmanship and innovative design philosophy in perfect harmony. Inspired by the historic Webermesser, one of the company's oldest models, this classic brings the history of the Bergisches Land region directly into the hands of its users.

The blade

The Bergmann's high-quality carbon blade is characterized by its fine point, which is reminiscent of its original use in the textile and ribbon weaving mills of the Bergisches Land region. This blade is not only a practical tool, but also a symbol of the centuries-old craftsmanship that is cultivated in Solingen.

The handle

The compact, rounded handle made of fine ebony is the perfect complement to the blade. With its deep black coloring, it creates a link to the coal of the Ruhr area and thus expresses the industrial history of the region. The copper structures in the bolsters, made from high-quality FAT Carbon (= Future Advanced Technologies), are reminiscent of the natural formations of the coal seams that characterize the landscape.

Handcrafted production

Each OTTER “Bergmann” knife is made entirely by hand in Solingen, Germany's city of blades. This attention to detail guarantees the highest quality and makes each piece unique. The Bergmann is more than just a knife, it is a piece of culture and history that upholds the tradition of the Bergisches Land.
