This legendary knife was originally designed for the military in 1995 by a person who is familiar with dangerous situations and that has moved in places where quality equipment is essential: Juha-Pekka Peltonen (former captain of Finnish defence forces).

Juha-Pekka Peltonen served in the Finnish Army and as a UN soldier in Cyprus and Sinai, as well as a UN military observer in Lebanon and Kashmir. The inspiration for the development of the Ranger Puukko came from his time as a military observer in Lebanon.There, in 1979, he saw a US service knife that impressed him greatly due to its weight, handling, and balance.

Thus began the story of Peltonen Knives and its long journey from the plains of the Middle East to the Finnish forests. The idea of a knife with similar characteristics, combined with Finnish knife-making tradition, adapted to the conditions of the North...

During his deployment in Lebanon, he began working on his design for a perfect military knife - one suitable for the harsh climatic conditions of Finland and inspired by traditional Finnish knives (Puukkos).After arriving in Finland, he decided to build his own knife, the Sissipuukko, which is the same size as the Ranger Puukko today.

The M07 Ranger Puukko is the version with the shorter blade and was introduced in 2007. Designed as tools for professionals and reliable companions for quality-conscious hunters, bushcrafter, and outdoor adventurers. Peltonen knives showcase Finnish knife craftsmanship at its finest.

The M23 Ranger Cub (Finnish: Pikkusissi). While previous Ranger models are often seen as survival knives, the M23 is handy for more precise tasks such as carving, whittling, and various everyday activities and challenges encountered by hikers or fishermen in the wilderness.It is a knife that is much larger than its size suggests. It features a 6.5-centimeter carbon steel blade, with its edge induction-hardened to 62 HRC. With the Kydex sheath, the knife can be easily carried horizontally on the belt. The sheath's Velcro belt loop is compatible with MOLLE and PALS systems, providing a variety of options for carrying the knife.
